Volksbank rents 14,000 sqm office space on Erdberger Lände, Vienna

Volksbank Wien will occupy approximately 14,000 sqm of office space in the CA Immo portfolio building on Dietrichgasse/Haidingergasse from the end of 2019 on a long term basis.

The office building on Dietrichgasse/Haidingergasse in the Lände 3 district has a rentable area of around 50,000 sqm along with 1,450 car parking spaces. Other tenants currently include the drivers and vehicles licencing authority and the main association of Austrian social insurance institutions. With Volksbank Wien as a long-term tenant, the building will be approximately 95% let. During the contract negotiations, Volksbank Wien was advised by the law firm Vavrovsky Heine Marth while CA Immo was supported by its internal legal affairs department.

As GD DI Gerald Fleischmann of Volksbank Wien remarks, “We have very successfully repositioned Volksbank Wien and the association over recent years. With the new site, we now have a unique opportunity to structure a new working environment in line with our precise needs. The layout of space and the equipment will provide our employees with many modern and flexible ways of working. Also, in terms of internal communication, it is very important to us that all centrally active employees of VB Wien will be working together at the same site.”

According to Andreas Quint, CEO of CA Immo, “We look forward to welcoming Volksbank as the new tenant at this attractive site by Vienna’s Donaukanal. With 500 or so nearby apartments recently handed over to tenants, a convenience store and the ViE office building newly completed by CA Immo, a lively inner city district is springing up around this large-volume office building. Given its prime location close to the Danube Canal and Wiener Prater recreation area, this vibrant downtown district is in very high demand.”

The building offers a multi-storey car park for up to 1,450 cars next door, a canteen, which is operated by SV Group, a kindergarten, as well as conference rooms and sport rooms with showers free of charge for all tenants. The property, owned by CA Immo since 2004, was used by Siemens until 2010. When Siemens vacated the building and moved into a new headquarters, the premises were renovated; the postal service was the anchor tenant of the building from 2011 to 2017.

Location and transport link
With an unobstructable location on the Donaukanal, the city and the airport are just minutes away; it is a five-minute walk to the underground U3 and to Vienna University of Economics and Business. The location of ViE is also ideal for cyclists thanks to the nearby intersection of two national cycle paths. The Wiener Prater is a stone’s throw away thanks to a pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the Lände in front of the building.
