PricewaterhouseCoopers to lease in the Munich SKYGARDEN

Munich, 06 October 2008 - The auditing and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has concluded a lease agreement for approx. 17, 500 sqm (188,368 square feet) of office space in the SKYGARDEN.  Together with its approx. 700 employees at the Munich office, the firm will move into the building located in Arnulfpark®.
The building mutually developed and realised by Vivico and OFB Projektentwicklung boasts a total of around 33,500 sqm (355,209 square feet) of gross floor space above ground. The construction of the building is set to begin in October of this year.
Werner Hölzl, member of the board of directors at PWC and responsible partner for the site in Munich, made the following statement with regard to moving the Munich office: "In addition to the spectacular architecture and the central location right next to the Hackerbrücke, the building's modern space concept significantly contributed to our decision to choose the SKYGARDEN. Our organisational units must be able to adjust quickly to changes. The high degree of flexibility of the spatial workstation design and the excellent communication options in the SKYGARDEN will support us in this. The winter gardens integrated into the office concept represented a very special feature for us. The sustainability of the building's energy concept was another important aspect in selecting the SKYGARDEN, which obtains over 50 percent of its energy requirements from regenerative energy sources.
Stephan Kleber, head of Vivico Munich, as well as Stephan Bender, head of the OFB Projektentwicklung branch office in Frankfurt, particularly emphasise the significance of the lease for the further strengthening of Arnulfpark® as an office site. With PricewaterhouseCoopers, the third major international tenant has decided to lease in Arnulfpark®, following Bristol-Myers Squibb and Altran.
The signing of the lease agreement marks the second largest lease agreement to be concluded in Munich this year. The companies Colliers Property Partners Schauer & Schöll as well as Savills acted as brokers in the conclusion of the lease.
The building, which was designed by the architect's office Bothe Richter Teherani (BRT), is characterised by its sculptural, space-creating architecture and large winter gardens, which are visible from afar.  Spacious courtyards, atria and balconies connect the internal and external areas of the building, and also enable further tenants to create an original identity for themselves.
The SKYGARDEN office building is one of the last components in the new urban quarter of Arnulfpark® with a total of around 252,00 sqm (2,712,505 square feet) of gross floor space. In addition to a large park measuring 40,000 sqm (430,556 square feet), over the past few years around 800 flats, a theatre, as well as several office and commercial buildings have been constructed here, including the VELUM and the recently completed office building ATMOS, where the international pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb has set up its new German headquarters. Additional residential and office buildings as well as two hotels are currently under construction.
