Groundbreaking for first Boulevard office building

Frankfurt, 28 October 2008  Vivico today begins construction on the first Boulevard office building. It will house the German headquarters of the international bank BNP Paribas. Following on from apartments and hotels, the construction of office buildings is the next step in the realisation of the Boulevard project.
"The Boulevard is a prime example of our success in the Europaviertel", stressed Bernhard H. Hansen, Vivico's Chairman of the Board. This is contributed to by well-known companies, such as BNP Paribas, Bayerische Versorgungskammer (Bavarian Pension Fund), Mövenpick, Realgrund and the Meininger Hotel, which Vivico has already managed to secure for this new urban quarter. Already, seven of the available twelve building sites in the Boulevard project are either under development or have been sold.
The six-storey building, which will serve as the Frankfurt offices of BNP Paribas, is being developed by Vivico on the North 1 building site. It is directly adjacent to the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City. The building has gross floor space, above and below ground, of roughly 34,000 square metres (365,972 square feet) with 23,000 square metres (247,569 square feet) in rental space. BNP Paribas is leasing about 12,000 square metres (129,166 square feet) of office space. Vivico is developing the building itself and will hand it over to the tenant when it is ready for occupancy. BNP Paribas' approximately 500 Frankfurt employees will be able to move into their offices during the second half of 2010.
Roughly 2,900 square metres (31,215 square feet) on the ground floor of the entire building complex will be devoted to catering and retail space. A façade made of aluminium, glass and natural stone will blend in well with the Boulevard's urban environment. The inner zone will be landscaped and will be visible from the Boulevard. Plans also call for a prestigious roof terrace above the BNP Paribas offices, which will afford a view of the Europaviertel and the Frankfurt skyline. The building has a total of 181 parking spaces in an underground car park. The architect is the firm Schneider + Schumacher, Frankfurt.
