CA Immo leases in Mainz office project "ZigZag"

Mainz, 25/11/2020 – CA Immo has concluded a lease agreement with the “Verband Pflegehilfe” (Nursing Aid Association) for around 1,600 m² of rental space in the new “Zig-Zag” office building in the urban development “Zollhafen Mainz”. Around one third of the office building developed by CA Immo is thus pre-let. The building is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2020 and the expansion of the rental space will take place in 2021. CA Immo’s investment amounts to some 16 million euros in total. The company Colliers International Deutschland acted as an advisor during the conclusion of the contract.

Matthias Winkelhardt, head of CA Immo Frankfurt: “We are delighted to soon be welcoming the “Verband Pflegehilfe” to our “ZigZag” building. This lease agreement once more shows that the urban development “Zollhafen Mainz” has now established itself as a preferred office location. The lively mix of residential, office, hotel, retail, social infrastructure and leisure offerings has in recent years created a unique urban development.”

The “Verband Pflegehilfe” is the largest nursing consultancy in Germany and a contact for those in need of care, and their family members, for all care-related matters. The company offers its consulting and services across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

“A crucial factor in opting for ZigZag was the modern and efficient office space offered by the building,” says Johannes R. Haas, Managing Director of “Verband Pflegehilfe”. “CA Immo was able to optimally fulfil our requirement profile and we are able to implement an attractive office concept for our staff. The location in the new Zollhafen Mainz development with its combination of maritime and historic industrial charm is of course also a real highlight in a way that is otherwise hard to find in Mainz.”

The association is moving on 15/03/2021 from its previous headquarters close to the Mainz main train station into “ZigZag”, occupying around 1,600 m² on the top two floors of the building. Developed by the architects MVRDV (Rotterdam) and morePlatz (Berlin), the building provides a total of approximately 4,600 m² leasable area on six floors. Its flexible floorplans can accommodate all commonly required room configurations, from individual offices to open space solutions. Office environments can be managed through innovative solutions – the light or room temperature, for example, can be easily controlled via smartphone or tablet. Radio technology has been used throughout instead of more conventionally used cabling, saving natural resources. “ZigZag” is due for completion in the third quarter of 2021.

“ZigZag” is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. A tram stop is situated directly opposite the building, which links ZigZag and Zollhafen with nearby Mainz locations such as the city centre and the main train station in just a few minutes. CA Immo is also currently building a new neighbourhood car park close by with around 400 public and rentable car parking spaces. Regional locations such as the airport, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt are also quick to reach.
