Union Investment acquires Laim290 office building from Vivico

Hamburg / Frankfurt, 21 October 2008 Union Investment Real Estate AG has purchased the Munich office building Laim290 from Vivico Real Estate GmbH for its open-ended real estate fund UniImmo: Deutschland in a transaction worth around EUR 30 million. The sale was brokered by Atisreal.

The 7-storey Laim290 building is located on the corner of Landsberger Strasse and Wotanstrasse in Munich and marks the first stage in the creation of an extensive office and commercial district along Landsberger Strasse. Access to the building for customers, visitors and staff is via Landsberger Strasse by way of two generously proportioned entrance areas with foyers on the west and east sides. Completed in October 2008, the property offers some 9,700 square metres of rental space. Laim290's tenants are Bilfinger Berger AG, MRCE Dispolok GmbH and OPUS GmbH, with around 85 per cent of the property prelet ahead of completion.
"With these two acquisitions, we are using our financial strength to take advantage of opportunities now arising in the German property market. Our acquisition activities on behalf of UniImmo: Deutschland are currently focused on office properties," says Dr. Frank Billand, Management Board member at Union Investment Real Estate AG. "Selling this property to Union Investment represents the successful completion of an economically sustainable Vivico development project that is let to attractive tenants," says Gregor Drexler, director of asset management at Vivico.
