Basel, 27 October 2008    The south-eastern corner of the new Erlenmatt district will play host to Africa! Africa!, a circus spectacle with countless African performers and artists, starting at the beginning of November.The Africa! Africa! circus show was developed by the Austrian multimedia artist André Heller over a period of two years, and is on tour in Europe. Numerous artists from all over Africa will present to the public spectacular acrobatics, rhythm and dance, as well as a rich variety of culinary delicacies in a monumental landscape of tents.Around 800 flats and up to 2,000 workplaces are planned on the Erlenmatt development area around a central park measuring 50,000 square metres (538,200 square feet). 240 flats are already in the process of being built. The next step will see Vivico, in a joint venture with Multi Development Corporation, bring a shopping centre and hotel into being.
