CA Immo: United brand also in Germany

In the future, the German subsidiary Vivico Real Estate GmbH will operate under the brand "CA Immo"

In the future, the German subsidiary Vivico Real Estate GmbH will operate under the brand "CA Immo". CA Immo acquired Vivico, which specialises in the development of sustainable urban districts, at the turn of the year 2007/2008; the united brand across the corporation now finalises the successive integration. The brand transformation will take place on July 1, 2011. As part of this process, today’s Vivico Real Estate GmbH will be renamed “CA Immo Deutschland GmbH”.

“Over the last few years we have transformed CA Immo into one of the most important European property investors with property assets totalling over € 5 bn today”, explains Dr. Bruno Ettenauer, CEO of CA Immo. “Therefore it makes sense to appear as CA Immo in the German market, which is very important for us.”

For Bernhard H. Hansen, board member of CA Immo and CEO of Vivico, it is important that achievements in the German market can directly benefit the CA Immo brand: “By concentrating on a single corporate brand we increase the impact and recognition of our achievements and, at the same time, demonstrate the implemented uniform structure of the group.”

Originally Vivico, which at the time was known as Eisenbahnimmobilien Management GmbH (EIM), was part of the fund assets of the Federal Republic of Germany. The company was founded in 1996 as part of the railway reform in order to sell around 3,000 assets previously belonging to the Deutsche Bahn. In 2001, the company was renamed Vivico Real Estate GmbH. Instead of selling single assets, the business model saw a shift to the generation of profits through the creation of corporate value and subsequent privatisation. At the turn of the year 2007/2008, Vivico was acquired by CA Immo for around € 1.0 bn in a bidding process. The acquisition provided CA Immo with real estate in the heart of major German cities as well as a strong platform for developing the sites; Germany became the most important market of CA Immo.

Today the CA Immo group employs around 170 people in Germany via its subsidiaries Vivico and omniCon, which is specialising in construction management. It develops districts like the Europacity in Berlin, the Arnulfpark in Munich or the Europaviertel in Frankfurt. The projects also include new buildings, such as the Tower 185 or the German headquarters of BNP Paribas in Frankfurt, the German headquarters of French oil company TOTAL and the Mercedes-Benz main German sales office in Berlin.
