CA Immo: office building in Berlin completed and handed over to tenant KPMG

Berlin, 20 March 2018 CA Immo extends its investment portfolio in Berlin: At the end of last week, the office building developed by CA Immo for KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in the Europacity district was handed over to the tenant. CA Immo's total investment was approximately EUR 57 million.

"As a modern, fully let office building in a prime Berlin location, the KPMG building is added to our portfolio, increasing our rental income sustainably and reinforcing our strong position in the prosperous Berlin office market", states Andreas Quint, CEO of CA Immo.

KPMG accommodates various service departments in the office building comprising around 12,800 sqm, including its internal IT services and finance divisions. Designed by KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten Berlin, the building is located next to Tour Total on Heidestraße and within walking distance to Berlin's main railway station. The 7-storey office building offers three underground parking levels for around 260 cars. The KPMG building was completed in a period of slightly more than two years. Once again, CA Immo's construction subsidiary omniCon was responsible for construction Management and the award of contracts.

Like all new project developments of CA Immo, this project was realised as a green building in compliance with stringent sustainability aspects. Apart from an optimised energy concept and the preferred use of regional construction materials, charging stations for electric vehicles and a large number of covered bicycle parking spaces were provided as well.

For around ten years, Europacity has been developed as a new urban mixed-use city quarter on a plot spanning around 60 hectares. Being one of the main owners of the area, CA Immo closely cooperated with the Land of Berlin to drive forward the development of the site in the past years. At the same time, CA Immo has already completed several buildings on the site, such as the Tour Total high-rise or John F. Kennedy Haus. Directly on Washingtonplatz, CA Immo is building the solitaire cube berlin, a structure both technically innovative and architecturally unique, offering a rentable area of approximately 17,000 sqm. Also on Heidestraße, CA Immo is currently realising two more office buildings. On the one hand, the "Bürogebäude am Kunstcampus" comprising a rentable area of around 7,900 sqm and the future head office of ABDA (Federal Union of German Associations ofPharmacists). ABDA will take over 70 % of the building, while the remaining space is left in the portfolio of CA Immo. On the other hand, this location will also accommodate the MY.B office building, which is under construction for the company's own portfolio. Following completion in 2019, MY.B will span a rentable area of around 14,300 sqm.
