Post AG to lease about 20,000 sqm for new corporate location in Lände 3 area

The new offices of Post AG are now sorted: starting from 1.8.2011, the company will bring together all the office units of the postal service at the Lände 3 site on Erdberger Lände. The existing office space of some 20,000 sqm, which has been leased by Post AG for 5 years, will be comprehensively revitalised by the owner, CA Immo. Further sustainable investments in the overall site are planned for the future.

“In the past few months, we have looked into various sites in terms of cost, location and facilities. We ultimately decided in favour of the property on Erdberger Lände. I am delighted that we will now be able to bring together our different Viennese offices here in a single, joint, modern business headquarters and that we have found a very competent partner in CA Immo, with whom we can achieve this,” says Dr. Georg Pölzl, General Director of Post AG.

The existing office space in the Lände 3 area, totalling some 80,000 sqm, scores highly for its ideal infrastructure (U3 underground line, airport motorway), its proximity to the city centre and its location in the immediate vicinity of the local recreation areas of Donaukanal and Grüner Prater. In early 2010, CA Immo started work, under the project name Lände 3, on a largescale development and revitalisation project for the property, which had been totally leased to Siemens until February 2010. The mission statement for the area had been defined previously as part of a city planning ideas competition and was recommended for further development by the urban development committee in November 2010. The overriding goal of the competition was to find a mix of uses, geared to the future, including residential housing, hotels, offices and retail businesses, to be implemented in several stages.
