Ground-breaking ceremony for first Boulevard apartments

Frankfurt, 9 November 2007  Vivico today launched construction of the first ensemble of buildings along the Boulevard in Frankfurt's Europaviertel. The symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for this significant Frankfurt apartment building project was made by the Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Petra Roth, together with the Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK - Bavarian pension fund for professional groups) and Vivico, the project developer.
Bernhard H. Hansen, CEO of Vivico's Management Board, said: "The Europaviertel will be the most dynamic development in Frankfurt for years to come. Here Frankfurt can grow inwards again". Vivico is moving with the trend back towards the city centre, developing futuristic, practical and sustainable city quarters integrating residential, recreational and working spaces into a harmonious whole, of which Europaviertel's Boulevard is set to be a successful example.
The completed ensemble of buildings covering 17,600 square metres will provide 187 apartments, retail outlets and restaurants, as well as 200 underground parking spaces. The project architect is Jo. Franzke Architekten, Frankfurt. Vivico is engaged to plan, manage and construct the entire project for the investor, the Bayerische Apothekerversorgung (Bavarian chemists' pension fund), represented by the BVK. The first tenants are expected to be able to move into the building on the Boulevard in early 2009.
The building is designed for modern urban life - the characteristic Boulevard style is achieved by the use of high quality natural stone combined with French windows, ground-floor shopping space and spacious apartments with plenty of natural light. All apartments have their own outdoor space; whether as balcony, ground-floor terrace or roof garden. The courtyard provides a secluded, south-facing private, green recreation and relaxation area. The majority of the apartments have two or three rooms, a number are designed as suitable for the elderly or disabled.
