CA Immo sells car park in Zollhafen Mainz at a premium to book value

CA Immo has sold the car park on Inge-Reitz-Straße in Mainz's Zollhafen quarter to the Contipark Group, a leading investor, developer and operator of car parks. The sale was made at a premium to the last reported book value. The car park was built by CA Immo in 2020 as part of the neighbourhood development and offers 399 parking spaces on six above-ground levels.

The sale, which has now been completed, is in line with CA Immo's corporate strategy of selling non-strategic land and buildings that are not part of its core office property business.

Hedwig Höfler, Group Head of Investment Management at CA Immo: “With the sale of the car park in the Zollhafen Mainz quarter, we are consistently pursuing our strategy of focusing our portfolio on office properties in central locations and selling properties that are not part of our core business. The transaction also underlines our ability as a developer to realise attractive value potential.”

The Zollhafen Mainz quarter is being developed by CA Immo in collaboration with Mainzer Stadtwerke AG. It is characterised by a diverse mix of residential, office, restaurant and hotel uses. The car park that has been sold is one of two publicly accessible car parks in the district.

CA Immo and Mainzer Stadtwerke AG have been pursuing the gradual sale of the development sites in Zollhafen for several years. CA Immo has also successfully sold its own developments, such as the ZigZag office building and residential buildings such as the Flößerhof.

The sellers were advised by Cushman & Wakefield and McDermott Will & Schulte from Frankfurt.
