CA Immo concludes another lease agreement in Mainz's ZigZag office building

Mainz, 15/07/2021 – CA Immo has concluded a lease agreement with the PIONEERS Group for more than 800 m² of office space in the ZigZag office building located in Zollhafen Mainz. Consequently, about 70% of the building have already been leased. United Pioneers is expected to move into the ZigZag on 1st December 2021. CA Immo’s investments amount to some 17 million euros in total. The project is due to be completed by the end of 2021 with the move-in of all tenants. Colliers International acted as consultant for the conclusion of the lease agreement.

Some opt for mainly private offices while others, such as United Pioneers, choose an open-plan concept with numerous places for informal communication and collaboration. This highlights that there is no single trend for office concepts but that we as landlords have to meet a wide range of demands. In so doing, spaces need to be efficient and equally suited to all concepts. Flexible floor plans such as those at ZigZag are the right solution to this.”

Developed by the architectural firms MVRDV (Rotterdam) and morePlatz (Berlin), the building is located at the northern port basin of the city's quarter and offers nearly 4,600 m² of leasable space over six floors. Its flexible floorplans can accommodate all commonly required room configurations, from individual offices to open space solutions. Office environments can be managed through innovative solutions – lighting as well as room temperature can be easily controlled via smartphone or tablet, for instance. Radio technology has been used throughout instead of more conventional cabling, sparing natural resources. Completion of the ZigZig is expected in the fourth quarter of 2021.

ZigZag is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. A tram stop situated directly opposite the building connects the building and Zollhafen with nearby locations in Mainz, such as the city centre and the central train station, in just a few minutes. Regional locations such as the airport and the cities of Wiesbaden and Frankfurt are also within easy reach. A new car park is also directly adjacent to the building, with around 400 public and long-term rentable parking spaces. CA Immo opened the parking garage in December, working in conjunction with (PMG) Parken in Mainz GmbH.
