CA Immo concludes operator's contract for a neighbourhood car park in Zollhafen Mainz

Mainz, 27/08/2020 – CA Immo has concluded an operator's contract with PMG Parken in Mainz GmbH for the roughly 12,400 m² GFA neighbourhood car park in Zollhafen Mainz. The multi-storey car park is expected to be completed by CA Immo this autumn and will house approx. 400 car parking spaces. CA Immo's investment volume runs to some 6.7 million euros.


The neighbourhood car park is situated in the northern part of Zollhafen Mainz, directly on Inge-Reitz-Strasse, and will be open to the public. A total of around 400 parking spaces in the multi-storey car park are distributed over 7 levels. In addition to this, there will also be electric vehicle charging stations pre-fitted. The multi-storey car park is part of the Zollhafen mobility concept developed by CA Immo and the public utility companies of Mainz. The aim of this was to ensure optimal traffic connections for the new quarter, including bikes, cars and public transport, while also keeping the quarter itself largely free of cars.

The architectural design of the neighbourhood car park's façade was the work of YES ARCHITECTURE., Munich. The façade’s structure picks up on the ebb and flow in the movement of the Rhine's water, and the play of colour on the vertical slats reflects the colouration of the neighbouring buildings. The multi-storey car park therefore fits into the urban environment.

With PMG as contractual partner for the neighbourhood car park, CA Immo has found an experienced operator of multi-storey car parks and underground car parks in Mainz and also in Zollhafen. The company already operates a multi-storey car park on Rheinallee in Zollhafen and an underground car park at the Weinlager building. With around 10,000 parking spaces in currently 24 multi-storey car parks, some of which it owns and some of which it operates, PMG has been the leading company in Mainz for the management of parking spaces for more than 30 years.

CA Immo is currently also working on the office building ZigZag (completion due autumn of 2020), which is close to the multi-storey car park and at the edge of the northern port basin with a rental space of around 4,700 m² and, in a joint venture with UBM Development Deutschland GmbH, the mixed-use building complex Kaufmannshof with 50 apartments and around a further 3,100 m² of office space (completion expected 2022).
