CA Immo letting in Mainz's ZigZag office building

Mainz, April 06, 2021 – CA Immo has concluded a lease agreement with Paigo GmbH for approx. 800 m² in the ZigZag office building located in the Zollhafen Mainz city quarter. The company, which belongs to the Bertelsmann subsidiary Arvato Financial Solutions, is expected to move into the building on 1 July 2021. With the conclusion of this lease agreement, the ZigZag is approx. 50% let before completion. The ZigZag office building was put into operation in December 2020. Final completion is expected for the end of 2021, with all tenants moved in. CA Immo’s investments amount to approx. 16 million euros in total.

Matthias Winkelhardt, Head of CA Immo Frankfurt, on the lease: “The agreement underscores just how important high-quality, future-proof office spaces are to companies, while also demonstrating that Zollhafen Mainz has established itself as a preferred and sought-after business location in the state capital Mainz. Companies are increasingly setting down roots here, drawing the benefits of its central location in the city as well as the unique port atmosphere.”

Ralf Hoffmann, Paigo's Site Manager in Mainz adds: “ZigZag's innovative concept is a perfect match for us, our employees and the range of services and consultancy we bring to clients. Just as ZigZig is forging new, digital pathways for facilitating and efficiently shaping everyday office life for its tenants, we too are new breaking ground with a portfolio of novel, individualised and custom-designed products for customers. Then there's the Zollhafen, a true win for our employees with its high level of amenities. We are already looking forward to the move.”

Developed by the architectural firms MVRDV (Rotterdam) and morePlatz (Berlin), the building is located by the city's quarter's northern port basin and offers nearly 4,600 m² of leasable space over six floors. Flexible floor plans accommodate all of today's standard room configurations, from individual offices to open space designs. A set of innovative solutions were also developed for managing the office environment - lighting as well as room temperature can be easily controlled via smartphone or tablet, for instance. Radio technology has been used throughout instead of more conventional cabling, sparing natural resources. ZigZig is set for completion in the third quarter of 2021.

The building is easily accessible by car as well as public transport. A tram stop situated directly opposite the building connects ZigZag and the Zollhafen quarter with nearby locations in Mainz, such as the city centre and the central train station, in just a few minutes. Regional locations such as the airport and the cities of Wiesbaden and Frankfurt are also within easy reach. A new car park is directly adjacent, with around 400 public and rentable parking spaces. CA Immo opened the parking lot in December of 2020, working in conjunction with (PMG) Parken in Mainz GmbH.
