Baumkirchen Mitte wins first prize in the Bavarian Landscape Architecture Award 2020 and is the winner of the "Residential Environment" category

Our Baumkirchen Mitte neighborhood development in Munich has already received a lot of attention because of its unusual urban design. Now the project has won first prize in the Bavarian Landscape Architecture Award 2020 and is also the winner of the "Residential Environment" category.

For the Baumkirchen Mitte neighborhood, which is now largely completed, CA Immo had already launched an urban planning and landscape design competition in 2010, from which the design by Peter Ebner & Friends and Mahl Gebhard Konzepte emerged victorious. One of the special features of this competition was the early designation of over 50% of the site as an ecological priority area and landscape park.

Our project was now able to prevail among 53 national submissions. An international jury of experts made a preliminary selection from the submissions, which was finally decided upon by the members of the Association of Landscape Architects of Bavaria (bdla).

In its statement, the jury particularly emphasized the holistic sustainable approach to the landscape park: "A place seemingly in slumber and yet a concept that is oriented to the pulse of time, because the work illustrates the special responsibility of landscape architecture for the social, ecological and sustainable quality of open spaces and their urban integration."

The awarding of this prize and the success of the project development show once again that inner-city neighborhood development and the protection of nature do not have to be contradictory. CA Immo develops all neighborhoods and also buildings with a clear focus on protecting the environment and our natural resources.

Congratulations Andrea Gebhard and the whole team of Mahl Gebhard Konzepte for this great award.
