You are an IT Business Partner Real Estate in Vienna. How can we imagine your day-to-day work?

At CA Immo, the role of IT Business Partner also has a very strong focus on the realisation of projects. I love supporting projects from the initial planning stage through to implementation and ultimately handover to productive operation as a link between the specialist departments and IT. This job never gets boring because every day brings new challenges. IT projects have different phases such as analysing business processes, identifying and prioritising requirements, creating concepts and defining solutions. Then, of course, comes the phase of implementing the software solution - either by our own colleagues or by external partners the connection to existing systems, as well as the test and acceptance phase.

In all these phases, I work with different business units and external partners and have the opportunity to coordinate and help shape change processes. Respectful cooperation and teamwork always take centre stage. Of course, there are also less exciting activities such as documenting new processes and workflows.

To summarise, as an IT business partner and project manager, I am always a kind of problem solver who uses analysis, a structured approach and communication to help the company become more efficient, effective and competitive. And that's exactly what I love about this job.

Which projects and successes are you particularly proud of?

As a project manager, you are always proud of all projects. After all, you create something together that makes your colleagues' day-to-day work easier and provides a structured basis of data.

However, I would like to highlight the biggest and most challenging IT project that was implemented as part of the digitalisation of the IT strategy at CA Immo. When I joined the company, I had the opportunity to implement a new asset and portfolio management tool across the Group. The challenge was to adapt the purchased standard software to the requirements of our departments and to support the specialist departments in requirements and test management. Coordination and communication across countries and departments was a key factor for success. Thanks to the professional and outstanding support of all those involved, we as the CA Immo team were able to successfully complete this project in several development phases. Many thanks at this point to all those who invested a lot of time above and beyond their "normal work" and believed in the success of even in stressful times.

What background do you need for such a position (training, studies, etc.) and what advice would you give to people who also want to immerse themselves in this professional role?

As already mentioned, the area of responsibility of an IT Business Partner is very broad. In addition to analytical skills, problem-solving expertise and experience in project management, so-called "soft skills" are particularly important. You have to be prepared to constantly tackle new topics and engage with different types of people.

A structured way of working and the ability to remain calm even in stressful situations is definitely a prerequisite. In my opinion, a good mix of team player and independent leadership skills and the ability to motivate people make a good project manager.
