Christoph Jakoby - Head of Real Estate Development Frankfurt

How can we imagine your day-to-day work as Head of Real Estate Development in Frankfurt?
Basically, no two days are the same in project development. I think that's what makes it exciting. The focus certainly changes depending on the respective phase of a project development.

It's important to always keep an eye on a variety of topics - both expected and surprising - and not to neglect routine work. It is important to prioritize appropriately and move forward in a structured manner. Of course, this is done in co-operation with the relevant internal departments and external parties.

All in all, it's quite a juggling act that requires a hands-on working style. Incidentally, this description applies equally to my team. They all do a great job!

Which projects and successes are you particularly proud of?
Of course the ONE, which is certainly an exceptional project in the life of a project developer. Together with some colleagues, I had the good fortune and pleasure of actively shaping the office and hotel tower for over 10 years. I have particularly fond memories of a sunny October day in 2017 when the first drilling rig - a monster of a machine - was delivered to the still quiet construction site. From that day at the latest, there was no turning back! I was overcome with a feeling of joyful confidence and humility about what was to come. In the days that followed, the first work began on the pile foundation of the high-rise building, which finally went into operation in June 2022 after several years of construction. Today, the ONE is a natural addition to Frankfurt's skyline.

What role does innovation play in your area of work at CA Immo?
In general, innovation is the driving force behind every development, including project development. For me, however, innovation is not an end in itself, but a means of achieving goals in the best possible way. For example, the use of innovative construction products and technical building systems enables us to achieve ambitious sustainability requirements, which are becoming increasingly important for many of our tenants. Innovation is also evident in the use of software solutions for certain work tools and processes. I believe that we are very open to innovation, knowing full well that the tried and tested can also be a means of choice.

What do you value about CA Immo as an employer?
I joined CA Immo in 2007/2008 as an employee of Vivico as a result of the sale. If I add up my time at Vivico and CA Immo, I've spent - it's hard to believe - twenty-three years. It was never boring. I got to know colleagues who I really enjoyed working with or still enjoy working with today, preferably in the office, by the way. My team and I were and are offered exciting and unusual project developments. People and projects motivate me to this day, through highs and lows. I particularly appreciate the reliability of CA Immo as an employer.
